There's no way you can expect the unexpected, but you can
definitely prepare for it with the Basic Warranty. The coverage
lasts for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Wheel alignment and balancing, however, are covered for 12
months or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first.
This warranty covers repairs and adjustments needed to correct
defects in materials or workmanship of any part supplied by
Lexus, except for the following situations:
- Fire, accidents or theft.
- Abuse or negligence.
- Misuse--for example, racing or overloading.
- Improper repairs.
- Alteration or tampering.
- Lack of or improper maintenance, including use of fluids
other than those specified in the Owner's Manual.
- Airborne chemicals, tree sap, road debris (including stone
chips), rail dust, salt, hail, floods, windstorms, lightning
and other environmental conditions.
- Water contamination.
- Noise, vibration, cosmetic conditions and other deterioration
caused by normal wear and tear.
- Failure of a vehicle on which the odometer has been altered
so that actual vehicle mileage cannot be readily determined.
- Any vehicle for which the original factory-assigned vehicle
identification number can't be determined.
- Any vehicle that has ever been issued a "salvage" title
or similar title under any state's law. This also includes
cars that have been declared a "total loss" or equivalent
by a financial institution or insurer, such as by payment
for a claim in lieu of repairs because the cost of repairs
exceeded the cash value of the vehicle. This exclusion does
not apply to the emission control warranties.
- Incidental or consequential damages associated with a vehicle
failure. Such damages include but are not limited to inconvenience;
the cost of transportation, telephone calls and lodging; the
loss of personal or commercial property; and the loss of pay
or revenue.
- Normal maintenance services such as engine tune-ups; replacement
of fluids and filters; lubrication; cleaning and polishing;
replacement of spark plugs and fuses; and replacement of worn
wiper blades, brake pads/linings and clutch linings. NOTE:
Lexus does provide the first two scheduled maintenance services
for free.
- Tires, which are covered by a separate warranty provided
by the tire manufacturer.

Maintenance Schedule
The Importance Of Scheduled Maintenance
Regular maintenance not only is essential to keeping your
Lexus running at its highest level of performance, safety
and reliability--it can also enhance your vehicle's resale
value. Besides making sure your Lexus drives smoothly for
years to come, following these recommendations will also keep
your warranty in full coverage.
See your Lexus dealer for complete details on warranty coverage
and maintenance schedule or refer to your Lexus Owner's Manual
Supplement.
To help ensure your vehicle receives first-rate service and
factory-authorized parts, we recommend having routine maintenance
performed by service technicians at an authorized Lexus dealership.
They keep current on the latest developments in the maintenance
and repair of Lexus vehicles, and many are certified by the
National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence as well
as through the Lexus Commitment to Perfection Certification
Program.
Additionally, when you have your vehicle serviced at a Lexus
dealership, your service information is stored in the Lexus
National Service History database, the first of its kind in
the automotive industry. It can be accessed by any Lexus dealership
in the U.S.A. - a major convenience if your Lexus needs servicing
while traveling or if you relocate to another part of the
country.
A Lexus delivers so much driving satisfaction and luxury,
and having it serviced at a Lexus dealership can keep your
investment paying off for years to come.
Determining The Proper Maintenance Interval
Your Lexus should receive scheduled maintenance every 5,000
to 7,500 miles (or every 4 to 6 months), depending on your
circumstances and driving habits.
5,000-Mile Or 4-Month Intervals
Use 5,000-mile or 4-month intervals if you primarily drive
your Lexus under any of the following conditions:
-Driving on unpaved or dusty roads
-Towing a trailer or using a camper or cartop carrier
-Repeated trips of less than five miles in temperatures below
freezing
7,500-Mile Or 6-Month Intervals
Use 7,500-mile or 6-month intervals if you primarily drive
your Lexus under conditions less strenuous than those listed
above.
Corrosion PerforationWarranty
Any mechanic can tell you that rust is one of metal's greatest
natural enemies. Which is why Lexus has a warranty that covers
repair or replacement of any original body panel that develops
perforation from corrosion (rust-through), subject to the
exceptions listed in the Basic Warranty page .
And as for the coverage, the Corrosion Perforation Warranty
lasts 72 months, regardless of mileage.
Warranty/Roadside Assistance
Each Certified Pre-Owned Lexus is supported by a Lexus-backed
3-year/100,000-total-vehicle-mile limited warranty that begins
the day you drive it off the lot--not on its original purchase
date.
You will also receive Lexus 24-hour Roadside Assistance at
no extra charge, a complimentary loaner car for qualified
warrantable repairs, and a complimentary oil and filter change
or 5,000-mile service within 90 days from the purchase date.
There are no deductibles, and should you have a breakdown
while away from home, you will be provided with meals and
lodging for a maximum of 3 nights (up to $200 per night) while
repairs are performed on your car, in addition to a rental
car for up to 5 days (up to $50 per day). See your Lexus dealer
for complete warranty details.
